Quilts

Quilting is a hobby that my wife and I started several years ago. I attended Mountain Heritage Day at Western Carolina University and discovered the magic of fabric art and quilting. Since Patricia was already established in the sewing arts, it was not difficult to adapt to this fascinating hobby.
The quilts shown here are examples of work I have recently completed.
"Tumbling Blocks"  was a 3-D wall hanging I donated for a charity auction.  It was a relatively easy project to complete.

"Mayberry Picnic"  was  also a charity wall hanging made for our guild auction. My wife was so in love with it that she
                                          purchased it for our home.

"  "Galaxy Star" used a small template found on an internet webpage. It was difficult to clearly see the placement of the
appropriate pieces, but with patience, the finished product was worth the effort. The quilting was done by professional long
arm, and local quilter, Sue Hunston. This piece hangs in our foyer.
"Tarheel Home" was made for my aunt's birthday. It was a full sized queen quilt and completed in one week!
My wife and I did the quilting on a regular sewing machine, which proved to be quite challenging.

This quilt is called "Amazing" and was given to my cousin upon her graduation from high school.  She is a student at   Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.

Husband and Wife Effort!

Rainbow Pyramid is a combination effort by the both of us. It is a full queen sized quilt that features approximately 27 separate color combinations. It was entered into the Lake and Mountain Quilting Guild show in 2008 and received a third place ribbon in its division.
